Wondering who this mysterious “Mr Henry” fellow even is? Well, allow us to introduce him!

Hailing from the hilariously-named northern town of Ramsbottom, Mr Henry trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and has a wealth of professional industry experience as a performer, dance captain, musical director, and composer. Not only that, he’s also a long-time believer in the power of youth theatre. His favourite colour is yellow, he’s never eaten a fruitcake (there’s no good raisin too), and he once went skydiving, much to his mother’s fury.

As a performer, Mr Henry has appeared as Rubble in Paw Patrol Live (International and National Arena Tours), Buttons in Peter Duncan’s Cinderella, Buttons in Cinderella (Alexandra Theatre, Bognor Regis), Wishy Washee in Aladdin (Theatr Clwyd), Phil Mackey in 110 in the Shade (Ye Olde Rose + Crown Theatre), and Barney in Sweet Charity (Leicester Curve).

Mr Henry has worked as Musical Director in projects including Nickelodeon’s Paw Patrol Live Pirate Adventure (International and National Arena Tours) and the National Youth Musical Theatre

His own composition credits include Super Hero the Musical, which was produced by NYMT and performed in The Leicester Curve and The Rose Theatre, and The Dysfunctional Guide to Being a Third Wheel, which was performed at the Crazy Coqs Theatre. We’d like to use this space to also announce he’s just finished writing The Dysfunctional Guide to Being a Barista, too. Watch this space!

As a teacher, Mr Henry studied his PGCE in Performing Arts, and has over eight years of experience working with children in performance. He’s been proud to see his tutees go on to appear in West End productions such as Les Miserables, Thriller and The Jungle, and can’t wait to keep helping his students reach their performance dreams. He holds a Grade 8 Piano certification, Grade 6 Tap Dancing, and Grade 8 LAMDA. He’s also technically qualified to coach Ultimate Frisbee, but you probably won’t see that in action much in his classes.

Mr Henry would argue that all his own personal creativity, charisma and confidence, stemmed from his experience in attending various performing arts groups as a child. That, or the number of times he’s listened to The Sound of Music soundtrack! How do you solve a problem like so many fantastic songs on one album?

Those who have met Henry might describe him as a bit of a big kid, but that doesn’t detract from his clear, passionate, and value-driven mind frame that has brought Mr Henry’s Performance Academy to the place it’s at today.
